Next generation of ideas need a new generation of people.

We are at a crossroads in the labor pool and talent pool in America where we need a revitalized talent pool who will disrupt the current bounds and the passiveness in the current labor market. Whether that means more individuals joining startups and driving incredible results there—when large companies cannot hire open ended—in every economy, startups can hire better talent. Half of the problem is finding the talent and helping talent tell their story better in the US.

When there has been a major shift in the labor market, there has been a major shift in the talent pool and where talent pool can go. And often when there is a migration it will define the next generation. At one point, Michigan, my home state, was the largest manufacting state in the US and the world. That migration of opportunity first defined new salaries/wages (manufacturing jobs) and eventually a new labor/rich ecosystem that finally has found a critical mass today. That has created tailwinds of the next generation (like schools, businesses, smbs and other opportunities that would never have been possible without that migration.) But it took over 40 years to get this critical change but it happens every single time. Today, regardless of any country, the largest migration in the world of labor talent has been quietly happening in the last 20 years... going online. Online is a destination where work happens. It doesn't define boundaries or jurisdictions, instead it connects equivocally/without discrimination, and never ever has every single person in the world have instant access to helpful AI executive assistant and one of the smartest individuals in the world. It is hard not to imagine that the next generation of the labor and talent, both online and offline, won't be greatly transformed by this shifts but simultanoeusly will look very different today as well.

Simultaneously, we are at odds with a growing global labor pool the likes we have never seen. You can hire someone internationally who speaks English, can work nearly 100% synchronously, and is just as passionate anywhere across the world—including here in the US—while compensating according to growing world-stage economies. Combined with AI, there are few roadblocks this talent pool has, and local US economies must adopt AI.

This is one of the greatest moments in labor economy history. Finding and sorting through that talent is the greatest opportunity of this era—but it is not always obvious.
